REPORT OF MATCHES PLAYED ON SUNDAY, 16th NOV. 2008
After a difficult start to the season, West Moor Social Club progressed to the last eight of the Terry Lee Memorial Cup thanks to a 4-1 win away to Spartan Sporting Club Blyth. Goals from Teppiatt, Parr, Pinfold and Compton bettered the lone reply from Heatley for the Ridley.
In the Bob Sturrock Cup, Shankhouse United made progress after a hard fought 2-1 success over Seghill Social Club for whom Douglas found the net but strikes from man-of-the-match Gustard won it for the House.
Seaton Sluice Social Club overcame Hartford Village in the Pauline Gainford Cup thanks to goals from Rivett, Fenwick, Lynn and Maughan.
In the Premier Division, it was stalemate in the Shields Derby between Formica and Billy Mill as neither side could find the net thanks largely to superb performances from the respective goalkeepers. Dudley & Weetslade won 4-2 at home to Burradon with Wood (2), Scope and Roper on the mark with Isbister and Brannigan replying. The match between Seaton Burn Moor House and Amici Forest Hall was settled by an unfortunate own goal from Blakey to give Amici the points.
Cramlington Village S.C. continued their good form in the First Division with a 4-2 victory over Dinnington Village and New Hartley had goals from Bell and Wilson to thank for their win over Blake Arms Seghill.
In the Second Divison games played, The Hind Cramlington thrashed luckless New Hartley Community 9-1, Taylor hitting four of them. In a much closer contest, Proctor & Gamble continue to impress after a 3-2 win at Cramlington Pheonix and Bedlington Station S.C. march on hitting Newsham Victory for 6 with 3 in reply. Seaton Burn New Drift Inn had striker Jobe on a hat-trick with Wylam adding another in a 4-2 verdict over The Charnwood Longbenton whose scorers were Capperton and McLeod.
