WELCOME TO THE CDSFL WEB SITE.
The League was founded in 1977 with 14 teams, and has played an important part in promoting grassroots football in Northumberland County. By 1986 the league had grown to 36 teams playing in 3 divisions and by 1991 it had 53 teams playing in 4 divisions.
O. Dickinson, one of our vice presidents, is the last founder member in office.
The trophy cabinet holds 6 cups which are played for each season.
The Terry Lee Memorial Challenge Cup, provided from league funds, previously The Challenge Cup was renamed in 2006 after the death of Terry Lee, a founder member of the league and General League Secretary, this competition is open to all member clubs.
The Subsidiary Cup, donated by Target, which is for all member clubs who are eliminated from The Terry Lee Memorial Challenge Cup in the first and second rounds.
The Bob Sturrock Memorial Cup, donated by West Wideopen SC FC, this competition is played for by premier division clubs only.
The AAF Cup, donated by American Air Filters, Cramlington, this competition is played for by first division clubs only.
The Derek Raffle Challenge Cup donated by Derek Raffle a former General League Secretary; this competition is played for by second division clubs only.
The Pauline Gainford Memorial Challenge Cup, donated by Mr. Gainford, this competition is played for by third division clubs only.
All League Cup Competitions are played on a knockout basis.
